The new lighting at All Saints was carefully designed in the style of Sir Ninian Comper who added the beautifully gilded Reredos, Rood Screen and organ case. The original Comper electroliers, designed by Sebastian Comper in the mid 20th Century, and too small to provide adequate light in the main body of the church, were relocated to the Lady Chapel and Baptistery.
The larger pendants that now hang in the nave are faithful reproductions of Comper’s original style and complete this most elegant of lighting schemes. The Commendation in the 2007 Lighting Design Awards placed this design second only to the new lighting scheme at St Paul’s Cathedral.
